It's been a long time...

First, I need to apologize for my absence. I have been involved in a "few" major transitions. All is well, but all is busy. As I have become more acclimated to my new (and approaching) circumstances, I hope to devote more time with this site and developing the "Coalition." Stay tuned... I will have a number of announcements over the next year.

Greetings,

I will be relocating to Northern Jersey (Orange) next month and I wanted to gain information about rites of passage programs, african centered schools, african dance for myself and two daughters ages 4 and 7. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hotep Bro Dr. Loggins. I am familiar with your work and it was an asset in writing for my PhD. I will check out the referred website and keep up the connective work as we do need this forum.

Glad to be a part of what you have going Dr. Goggins. My story: I was led, a couple of years ago, to do my Master's Project on an African-Centered Rites of Passage program for 9th grade Black Males. At the time I was in my master's program, it didn't seem like the proper time or place for me to actually implement a program. This year I am teaching at a new school and I have a renewed interest in implementing a rites of passage program, although, now I am thinking of targeting the entire freshman class, not just African American males. The idea has been somewhat daunting and I am in that stage where I need to go from what's in my head to putting it on paper and then making it happen. So when I got your message on email the other day, I took it as a kick in the butt from the ancestors. Having said all of this, I will be meeting with people this week to discuss some of my ideas about the program, but it would also be helpful if you could provide some guidance. I am looking to serve about 350 freshman, primarily Black and Hispanic. Do you have any experiences with a group that large?

I appreciate any input you can give.

Thanks,

Anthony
